My name is Chris Conti. I’m a French writer-director and composer. I write, direct, edit and often compose the music for my own films.
I come from a background in visual arts, filmmaking and music. Before returning to cinema, I spent several years writing, composing and performing music, an experience that still shapes the way I approach rhythm, tension and emotion.
My work is driven by atmosphere, genre and character. I’m drawn to stories where perception, identity and emotion become unstable, and where sound and image work together to create tension.
My latest short film, No Wind to Hold (Le Vent se Lève), co-written and co-directed with Mickael Abbate, played at festivals worldwide and received several international awards.
I’m currently developing new film projects with a focus on strong visual identity and emotionally driven storytelling.
